CPEC 2.0 Jobs 2026 — 14 Positions at CPEC Secretariat, Islamabad

The CPEC Secretariat, under the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, has advertised 14 positions branded under “Powering CPEC 2.0.” The advertisement was published in The Nation on September 1, 2026 — and unlike nearly every other government ad we’ve covered, this one doesn’t have a fixed closing date.

There’s No Deadline to Race Against — But Don’t Read That as “No Rush”

Most government job ads give you a hard cutoff date. This one explicitly states positions are “open until filled, with reviews beginning immediately on a rolling basis” — meaning CPEC Secretariat can start evaluating and shortlisting candidates as applications come in, not wait for a closing date before looking at anything. In practice, that makes this the opposite of a “you have weeks to prepare” situation: the earlier you apply, the earlier you’re in the review queue, and popular positions could realistically be filled before a traditional deadline would have even arrived.

Two Tiers, Same Fields — Know Which One You Qualify For

The ad structures most subject areas across two seniority levels, so check both columns before assuming which tier fits you:

Senior Specialist (PPS-10, Max Age 50, 1 post each):

  • Energy — postgraduate degree in Electrical (Power)/Mining Engineering or related field
  • Infrastructure & Regional Connectivity — postgraduate degree in Management Sciences/Project Management/Economics/Transport/Infrastructure Planning or related, from a recognized institution
  • Socio-Economic Development — postgraduate degree in Economics or related field
  • Investment & Industrial — postgraduate degree in Commerce/Economics/Finance or related field
  • Agriculture — postgraduate degree in Agriculture/Agronomy/Agricultural Economics or related field, from a recognized institution
  • Science & Information Technology — postgraduate degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Information Technology/Engineering Management and related fields
  • Maritime & Blue Economy — postgraduate degree in Marine Science/Maritime Studies/Economics/Environmental Science or related field

Specialist (PPS-9, Max Age 45 unless noted, 1 post each unless noted):

  • Media — postgraduate degree in Media Studies/Mass Communication/International Relations/Journalism or related field
  • Energy — postgraduate degree in Electrical (Power)/Mining Engineering or related fields
  • Infrastructure & Regional Connectivity — postgraduate degree in Management Sciences/Project Management/Civil Engineering/Development Economics/Social Sciences or related field
  • Maritime & Blue Economy — postgraduate degree in Marine Science/Maritime Studies/Economics/Environmental Science or related field
  • Social Media Expert and Content Writer — advanced university degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • Research Officer — graduate degree in relevant field, Max Age 35, 3 posts (the only multi-post role outside interns)

Interns (Lump Sum Basis) — 5 posts: no qualification or age criteria specified in the ad; engaged on a lump-sum stipend under the applicable internship policy.

Why the Field List Repeats Across Tiers

Notice Energy, Infrastructure & Regional Connectivity, and Maritime & Blue Economy each appear at both Senior Specialist and Specialist levels. If your background fits one of these three areas but you’re unsure whether your experience level matches Senior Specialist or Specialist, the age limit is your clearest signal — 50 for the senior tier, 45 for the standard tier in these fields.
