- Post allocation: Merit-53, Zone 01=35, Zone 02=51, Zone 03=35, Zone 04=35, Zone 05=26, Zone 06=26, Minority Quota=14
The Zone System Is Worth Understanding Before You Apply
Rather than one open merit list, most seats here are split across six geographic zones plus separate minority and women’s quotas, on top of an open merit pool. This means your actual competition isn’t every applicant province-wide — it’s the applicants within your specific zone. The Physical Test Is Mandatory and Specific
This isn’t a written-test-only recruitment. There’s a required physical fitness component with different standards depending on gender and age:
- Male candidates: 1-mile run in 7 minutes, minimum height 5’6″, minimum chest 33″
- Candidates aged 40 and above: 1-mile run in 9 minutes
- Female candidates: 1-mile run in 9 minutes, minimum height 5’2″

- Foreign degree holders must provide an HEC equivalence certificate
- If you’re applying for more than one post, you must submit separate applications with separate fees for each — you can’t apply once and be considered across multiple designations
- Selected candidates undergo mandatory training of six months (or as prescribed) and must pass all required examinations before confirmation
- A Police Clearance Certificate is required before the appointment offer is issued
- Selected candidates must submit a Surety Bond on stamp paper, countersigned by an Oath Commissioner
- Medical examination for shortlisted candidates takes place at Police & Services Hospital, Peshawar
