Punjab Forest Department Jobs 2026

Punjab Forest Department Jobs 2026 — Animator, Drone Operator & GIS Staff (5 Posts)

The Punjab Forest, Wildlife & Fisheries Department has advertised five positions under a development project titled “GIS-Based Protection Regime and Establishment of Digital Communication Cell,” published around September 15, 2026. This is one of the more unusual staffing mixes we’ve covered — a forest department hiring an animator alongside drone operators and surveyors.

Why a Forest Department Needs an Animator

At first glance, “Animator” doesn’t sound like a typical forestry hire. But given the project’s name — a Digital Communication Cell alongside a GIS-based protection system — the animator role likely supports visual/digital content around wildlife protection, awareness campaigns, or data visualization rather than fitting the traditional field-forestry mold. Whatever the exact use case, the compensation reflects a genuinely specialized, senior hire: this is the highest salary we’ve seen across any post covered on this site.

Positions

Animator (PPS-8) — 1 post, Age 28–35, Salary Rs. 350,000/month

  • Qualification: Master’s/Bachelor’s (16 years) in Fine Arts, Film & TV, Computer Science, or relevant degree (HEC recognized) with 7 years’ experience
  • Must have proven experience creating high-quality animations using industry-standard software (Adobe Animate, After Effects, Maya), strong artistic skills in drawing, modeling, and storytelling, and experience across 2D/3D animation, visual effects, and motion graphics

Assistant Director Computer Programming (PPS-7) — 1 post, Age 28–35, Salary Rs. 157,500/month

  • Qualification: 16 years education in Geo-Informatics, Computer Sciences, IT, GIS, or equivalent (recognized university), with 1 year post-qualification experience in computer programming/development or GIS programming expertise

Drone Operator (PPS-5) — 1 post, Age 22–28, Salary Rs. 70,000/month

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s (2nd Division, HEC recognized), 1 year post-qualification experience piloting drones for high-quality aerial footage/imagery in natural resource applications; skilled in flight planning, route mapping, camera settings, drone maintenance, equipment calibration, and data processing

Surveyor (PPS-3) — 1 post, Age 20–25, Salary Rs. 43,750/month

  • Qualification: Higher Secondary School Certificate (2nd Division) + Diploma of Surveying from a recognized institute

Driver (PPS-3) — 1 post, Age 25–35, Salary Rs. 43,750/month

  • Qualification: Middle School Certificate, valid Light Transport Vehicle driving license, 5 years’ light transport vehicle driving experience

All five posts are open to placement anywhere in Punjab.

The Salary Gap Between Posts Is Worth Noting

The Animator role pays roughly 8 times more than the Surveyor or Driver positions, and more than double the Assistant Director Computer Programming role. This project clearly weights specialized creative/technical skill heavily — if you’re deciding which post to apply for based on qualifications you could stretch to meet, the pay difference alone makes the Animator and Assistant Director roles worth the extra effort if you’re genuinely qualified.

Age Relaxation Isn’t Equal Across Genders

Per Government of Punjab notification (SORI(S&GAD)9-36/81, dated August 8, 2016), general age relaxation on the upper limit is +5 years for males and +8 years for females, calculated as of the advertisement date. Female applicants get a meaningfully larger buffer here than male applicants.

You Must Submit Both Online and Hard Copy — Not Just One

This is a detail that could disqualify an otherwise strong application if missed: candidates must apply online at jobs.punjab.gov.pk AND separately send a hard copy of the submitted form, along with attested photocopies of CNIC, domicile, academic, and experience certificates, to:

Director, Geo-Spatial Planning & Monitoring, Forest GIS Lab, 108-Ravi Road, Forest Colony, Lahore

The ad explicitly notes that submission of hard copies is mandatory — the online application alone isn’t sufficient.

Deadline: September 30, 2026, during office hours.

Other Conditions

  • Only candidates from Punjab Province are eligible
  • Recruitment is purely contractual for the project period, with annual increments per approved PC-1/government policy
  • If applying for multiple posts, submit a separate application for each, and clearly mark the post name on both the application and envelope
  • In-service candidates need NOC/DPC from their department, provided at interview if called
  • No TA/DA is admissible for test/interview
  • Selected candidates have no claim to permanent appointment
  • The authority can increase, decrease, or cancel posts and the recruitment process at any time without prior notice
