The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has advertised 14 contract positions across nine specialized analyst roles. The advertisement was published in Express around September 19, 2026.
Nine Different Analyst Specializations — Not One Generic Role
Unlike a typical “IT Officer” or “Analyst” posting, NACTA breaks this hiring into nine distinct domains, each with its own qualification path and quota:
Junior Analyst (OSINT) — 1 post, Punjab quota Education in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, Digital Forensics, Data Science, or Software Engineering. Open-Source Intelligence experience preferred, along with Social Media Intelligence and Geospatial Intelligence work.
Junior Analyst (Technical Investigation) — 1 post, Balochistan quota Same educational base as above. Cyber investigations, malware analysis, digital forensics, and network security experience preferred.
Junior Analyst (Information Operations Monitoring) — 1 post, Merit quota Education in International Relations, Media Studies, Mass Communication, or Strategic Studies. Experience monitoring online influence operations, disinformation analysis, and social media analytics preferred.
Junior Analyst (AI Automation & Tool Development) — 1 post, Punjab quota Education in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Data Science. Python programming, AI/ML model development, and Large Language Model experience preferred.
Junior Analyst (IFW) — 1 post, Sindh (Rural) quota Education in International Relations, Peace & Conflict Studies, Terrorism & Security Studies, Criminology, Psychology, or Strategic Studies.
Junior Analyst (ORW) — 2 posts, Sindh (Rural) and Balochistan quota Education in Social/Applied Sciences or Law (MBA and Economics excluded). Advanced intelligence analysis experience preferred.
Junior Analyst (CFT) — 2 posts, Merit and Ex-FATA quota Education in Banking, Finance, Economics, Commerce, or MBA. Financial investigations experience preferred, along with understanding of cryptocurrency ecosystems and blockchain technologies.
Junior Analyst (AI) — 3 posts, Punjab, Sindh (Urban), and Balochistan quota Education in Computer Science, AI, IT, Software Engineering, or Data Science. Experience developing AI/software applications preferred.
Jr. Data Scientist — 2 posts, Merit and Sindh (Urban) quota Education in Computer Science, AI, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields. Experience with predictive models, large datasets, and tools like LLMs and chatbots preferred.
All positions require 16 years of education as the baseline, from an HEC-approved institution. Age limit across all posts is 30, plus 5 years general relaxation, totaling 35 years.
Contract Starts Temporary — With a Real Path to Permanence
The initial contract runs 6 months, but the ad states positions are “likely to be permanent on the basis of performance evaluation.” This is a more concrete permanence pathway than most contract postings we’ve covered, which often just say “extendable” without specifying what leads to conversion.
A Security Clearance Comes After You’re Selected
This is a step most other government ads don’t mention: even after final selection, appointment is subject to security clearance from relevant authorities. Being chosen isn’t the final hurdle — clearance still has to come through afterward, which is worth knowing if you’re planning your notice period at a current job around this timeline.
False Information Has Consequences Even After You’re Hired
Similar to a clause we’ve seen on other federal postings, NACTA reserves the right to cancel your candidature even after employment, if false or forged information is discovered later — along with initiating legal action against the applicant. This isn’t limited to the pre-selection stage.

Other Conditions
- Candidates working in public sector departments must apply through proper channel, with a Departmental Permission Certificate produced at interview — without it, you won’t be allowed to participate
- Age is calculated as of the closing date for applications, not today’s date
- Only shortlisted candidates will be called for test/interview; all are allowed to appear provisionally, subject to detailed scrutiny afterward
- No TA/DA is admissible for the test or interview
- NACTA can choose not to fill any vacancy, or adjust the number of posts, based on circumstances at final selection
