Most NADRA ads you come across are for regular cadre posts. This one isn’t, and the ad says so plainly. It is a 90-day, project-based contract for people who will spend their shifts scanning old NADRA records at the Lahore DRO office. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, read the terms below carefully, because several of them affect whether the job suits you.
What the work involves
According to the ad, selected candidates will be assigned the task of archiving old NADRA records. The target is a minimum of 400 pages scanned per day. The project runs in three shifts (morning, evening and night), six days a week, and you must be willing to work whichever shift is required. The ad does not say how many operators are needed, so no vacancy number is given here.
Scanning Operator (Project-based)
- Qualification: Minimum Intermediate or equivalent
- Age: maximum 25 years (five years of relaxation is already included)
- Region: Lahore
- Job location: 15-A, Abbot Road, DRO Office, Lahore
- Shifts: Morning, Evening, Night
- Vacancies: not stated in the ad

The pay
The base salary is Rs. 40,000 per month. On top of that there is an incentive amount per scanned form, but the ad doesn’t say how much. It only says the Authority will determine it. So the fixed part of your income is known, and the variable part is not.
Only Lahore residents
The ad invites “Residents of Lahore” under Regulations 9, 10 and 11 of the NADRA Employees (Service) Regulations, 2002. Only residents of Lahore as per CNIC or domicile will be allowed to appear for the interview, so applicants from other cities have no point applying. If you live in Lahore and are looking at other openings nearby, our Lahore jobs page collects the city’s current listings.
Documents and interview rules
Your online application needs a CV, certificates from your educational boards and your CNIC or domicile. At the interview you bring the originals of your educational and professional documents. Anyone already working in a government or semi-government department must bring a No Objection Certificate. Mobile phones, smart watches and similar gadgets are not allowed during the interview, and no TA/DA is payable. The ad also warns that any false, forged or misleading information leads to disqualification at any stage.
The conditions to weigh
This is temporary work in the truest sense. The contract is for three months (90 days) and is extendable if required. The ad’s note adds that selection doesn’t give any right or claim to a regular or contractual appointment or regularization in NADRA, and that services end automatically when the project or contract period finishes. Management can also withhold or cancel the recruitment process or reject any application at any stage without giving a reason. Transfer requests won’t be entertained, although management may post staff to another district on project requirements. You must also follow NADRA’s data and information security policies and keep everything you handle confidential.
How to apply
Applications are accepted online only, at careers.nadra.gov.pk, or through the QR code printed on the ad. An application guide is available in the Downloads section of the portal. The deadline is 11 October 2026. The ad encourages students, females, minorities, transgender persons and differently-abled persons to apply. The reference number is PID (I) 2854/26, and the ad is issued by the HR Directorate, NADRA HQ, G-5/2, Islamabad.
Who this suits
This fits a Lahore resident aged 25 or under with an Intermediate certificate, who is comfortable with repetitive desk work, rotating night shifts and a short contract. It suits you less if you’re hoping for a permanent NADRA post, since the ad rules that out.
